Yoga Themed Classes for Fall 2025
Class 1 - Opening the Lungs
In Chinese medicine, the Lungs are referred to as the "Delicate" organ due to its direct contact with the outside environment. As the seasons change and the air becomes cold and dry, the lungs become more susceptible to viral/bacterial infections. In this class we will focus on poses that help to open the chest and strengthen the lungs. Pranayama (breathing) will also be practiced.
Class 2 - Warrior Poses
There are three warrior poses. Each pose requires strength and a certain amount of flexibility. In addition, these poses tap into your inner self and help you to find the courage, fortitude, and vigor to face life's hardships. Yes...they are very important poses.
Class 3 - Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana (Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose)
This is a balancing posture in which you raise one leg at hip level and hold onto its big toe with your hand. We generally use our belts to do this pose. It’s a pose that can build on your strength and flexibility, particularly in the back of your legs and your ankles.
Class 4 - Triangle Pose with a Twist (Parivrtta Trikonasana)
.This pose (also know as Revolved Triangle Pose) combines a twist, side bend, forward bend, and balance. It is a challenging pose that requires strength, focus, and balance.
Class 5 - Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana) and Upward Facing Dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana)
Two very important poses. We will be working on the specifics of each pose as well as moving from one to the other. both require strength and flexibility in the back and legs. A great work out!
Class 6 - Halloween Yoga Day
With Halloween just around the corner, we will have fun exploring poses such as Cat pose, Hanging Bat pose, Floating Ghost pose, and more! Just a fun class for everyone.
Class 7 - Candle Light Yoga
This quiet and deeply relaxing class will focus on restorative poses...poses that heal and quiet the spirit. And yes...with real candles.
Class 8 - Yoga Sweet Yoga
As an avid baker, I love to share my creations with my students. This class is a student directed class where you get to choose your favorite pose and I will put them together in a mindful sequence. Afterwards....cake, pie, cookies, something deliciously sweet!
